			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> 	Reznick Talent Solutions has been retained to identify a proven CFO/General Manager.  Headquartered in MD, our client is a leading middle market manufacturing and retail company.  Our client is a leader in their industry and has a Regionally-focused (Baltimore/DC Metro Area) business model.  They are seeking a dynamic, energetic, team oriented, technically sound financial leader to partner with the President in optimizing the company’s market share and financial realization.  The CFO/General Manager’s position is the second ranking executive position within the organization.</p>
<p>Scope:<br />
The CFO will partner with the President in driving effective business operations, focusing on all “inside-related” functions.  The CFO will directly manage a mid-sized staff and maintain financial responsibility for all company business lines.  The current organizational structure has the following reporting into the CFO:  Director of HR, Sr. VP of Retail, VP/General Manager of Operations, VP/General Manager of Services, VP of Marketing, VP of MIS, Controller, and various accounting personnel.</p>
<p>The CFO is responsible for the company’s financial systems, policies, accounting practices, and GAAP compliance.  The CFO will have oversight for all accounting and financial functions, human resource functions including facilitation and implementation of policy and procedure manuals, all insurances and benefits, compliance items, general and administrative functions, and factory operations.  The primary responsibilities of the CFO are focused in the following 5 areas:</p>
<p>1.	Accounting Operations &#038; Financial Reporting<br />
2.	Treasury Functions<br />
3.	Financial Planning &#038; Analysis<br />
4.	Firm Administration<br />
5.	Management &#038; Corporate Leadership</p>
<p>The CFO will provide active leadership to each of the 5 business lines/profit centers, corporate accounting, and firm administration.  The CFO will develop and champion change processes, people and systems, as appropriate.  The CFO will be responsible for analyzing, presenting and interpreting relevant financial data to the President, business line leaders, outside service firms (e.g., public accountants, legal advisors), and banking relationships.  </p>
<p>The CFO will serve as key business partner and contributor to growth strategies, tactics, mid and long-range planning, ensuring that current revenue-generating strategies create enterprise value.  The CFO will collaborate with the President, Senior Management and their teams to establish key measures for business strategies in line with the Company’s long-term financial model.  The CFO will advise the President and Senior Management on the financial implications of business activities; make recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance; collaboratively develop operating policies and procedures and improvement programs for the attainment of corporate objectives.</p>
<p>Specifically, the CFO will perform the following:</p>
<p>Accounting Operations &#038; Financial Reporting:<br />
The CFO is responsible for all corporate accounting operations, which includes a staff comprised of a Controller, AR Manager, AP Manager, Collections Manager, and staff accountants.  In addition, the CFO will provide leadership and coordination of company’s business line accounting operations.  The CFO is responsible for the preparation of financial reports.  Specific areas of responsibilities include:<br />
•	Management of all accounting functions including the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable/Payables, Payroll, Benefits Accounting, etc.<br />
•	Supervision of corporate accounting staff as well as Business Line Vice Presidents.<br />
•	Management of all monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial and compliance reporting.<br />
•	Development of financial reporting analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows to be incorporated into the management reporting packages.<br />
•	Preparation and accuracy of consolidated financial statements (please note that the financial statements are currently done this way; however a recent move to decentralize into separate lines of business may suggest otherwise).<br />
•	Coordinate the external audits and reviews.  Coordinate tax reporting and compliance. Work collaboratively with outside advisors.<br />
•	Maintain responsibility for internal controls as they relate to the financial reporting.<br />
•	Drive the implementation of an improved financial accounting system.<br />
•	Improve upon the technical accounting processes to incorporate appropriate controls and accurate accounting.</p>
<p>Treasury:<br />
The CFO will manage the Company’s internal and external reporting and payment deadlines.  The CFO will provide strategic direction for debt related issues by partnering with the President to establish and implement policies.  The CFO will review and monitor expenditures in accordance with the Company’s operating and capital budgets.  The CFO will ensure that the Company’s cash flow forecasts are adequate to allow it to operate effectively; forecast cash payments; and undertake risk management activities to protect and progress the Company’s financial well being.</p>
<p>The CFO will serve as the primary liaison with bankers and maintain positive, long-term working relationships.</p>
<p>Financial Planning &#038; Analysis:<br />
The CFO will lead the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting functions and ensure that efficient and accurate processes and systems are in place.  The budget development and compliance has a significant effort and focus each fall.  Budget development typically takes 1-2 months and is then submitted for review and approval to their supplier and finance underwriter.<br />
•	The CFO will be responsible for business and financial strategies, analysis of operating results, supporting strategic and business planning processes including capital budgets, forecasting and financial control models.<br />
•	Preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and analyze and report on variances.<br />
•	The CFO will take the planning and analysis function to a new level, and implement new and improved forecasting methods, financial planning systems and tools.<br />
•	The CFO will also expand upon the current internal reporting functions.</p>
<p>Firm Administration:<br />
The CFO will maintain responsibility for all internal business operations to expand beyond the financial accounting operations and include the management of human resources, technology, operations, and firm administration.  The CFO will help foster the already strong corporate culture by collaborating across all business lines and corporate firm functions.<br />
•	The CFO will provide oversight to the Director of Human Resources and the Recruiting Manager with regards to Policy and Procedure Development, Employee Hiring and Termination, Compliance Items and Employee Benefits.<br />
•	The CFO will provide oversight to the Production Analyst (Asset Manager) and Insurance Administrator with regards to insurances, store leases, legal, and supplies and work environment.<br />
•	The CFO will provide oversight to the Vice President of Operations, Production Analyst and staff as it relates to factory productivity and utilization of materials.  </p>
<p>Management &#038; Corporate Leadership:<br />
Demonstrated leadership and management skills are a must!  The CFO will be responsible for financial/accounting oversight of each of the 5 business lines (profit centers) and serve as the financial leader to each of the business line Vice Presidents.  The business lines include manufacturing, direct marketing, services, wholesale sales, and retail sales.  The CFO will also manage the corporate accounting operations team as well as Human Resources, Technology and Firm Administration functions.  Essentially, the CFO will also wear the hat of General Manager.</p>
<p>Essential Experience (special skills and experience, licenses, certifications, and education):<br />
The ideal candidate will not only possess strong technical accounting skills, but also be an effective administrator and leader.  The ideal candidate will possess the ability to enhance the accounting operations to include strategic solutions around processes and systems.  The ideal candidate will embrace the company as its own and deliver strategic solutions that best service the company with long term returns.  The ideal candidate will possess the following essential experience:</p>
<p>•	BS/BA, Finance, Accounting or Economics, MBA a plus; CPA required<br />
•	A minimum of 12 years progressive role in accounting operations, treasury functions, and financial and strategic planning (including core competencies in budgeting, reporting and financial analysis)<br />
•	Combined experience in public accounting and corporate accounting desired<br />
•	Manufacturing and/or retail experience a plus<br />
•	Thorough understanding of financial accounting and reporting under GAAP<br />
•	Effective leadership skills.  Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization; a change agent<br />
•	Solid management skills; a proven leader in training and developing a high-performing team.  A proactive leader and effective coach who is committed to the development and engagement of his/her direct team<br />
•	Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence and manage change.  Possessing a natural, effective consultative style<br />
•	Strong systems aptitude and experienced in accounting system implementations<br />
•	Ability to respond and prioritize effectively and meet deadlines<br />
•	Effective and decisive under pressure<br />
•	A team player with a “can-do” attitude; high integrity level</p>
